Hand painted magnets

Local artisan, Yara Sevilla, makes these hand painted beauties. Each item is painted with acrylic, water resistant paint on higüero (which roughly translates to the fruit of the fig tree). In the back, there is a small magnet attached. 

This painting is of a sea turtle. The Carey turtle is in danger of being extinct and the Tinglar turtle is more common in Puerto Rico. Their nests our found and protected on many of the beaches on the North coast.
